Continuous shutdown and restart while unit is powered on

I started the car one day, and my Rexing V1 G3 continuously shut down and restarted for as long as I drove. It made the chirping noise each time. It had previously operated flawlessly prior to this. I updated the firmware to see if that might correct the problem, but it didn't. Yes, I formatted the SD card after I put it back in the unit. Yes, I verified that the version number is the new one. The unit will not stay on long enough for me to set the date and time, or view any of the other setting for long enough should I want to change any of them. Shuts down, restarts, every time. Is it time for a new one?
