R4 Plus (Best Buy edition) won't go into playback mode on camera

Hey, all. I've been trying to get my R4 Plus to go into playback mode on the camera by holding the mode button but all it does is say “camera is recording” or something like that. I've tried holding it for at least a couple/few seconds but it never goes into playback mode. 

Am I doing something wrong? Am I not holding the button long enough?
