parking mode set up
purchased a v1p pro plus and it came with a hard wire kit the has a red, yellow and black wire. from the installation videos i am to connect the red to a switched fuse, the yellow to always on and black to ground which i did. i believe this is so i can enable the parking mode but when i try it says to purchase a smart hard wire kit. what is this? i believe i already have that.

Thank you for contacting Rexing.
As a precaution, we have programmed a preinstallation message that notifies our customers even if you have the smart hardwire kit installed. I would advise that you ignore this message if you are using the smart hardwire kit .
This is to prevent customers from using the wrong hardwire kit or cigarette lighter charger to try activating parking monitor as that won't work

so i dont know if this was a good buy or not. from looking at the rexing support page i have the smart hard wire kit and it is hooked up correctly. I am still getting the message i need the smart hard wire kit. The previous post said to ignore but there is no getting around this. Is there anyone that has any insight on how to make this work?

mike kalbach, i dont know if your dash cam is the same set up or the same hardwire kit i have. my dash cam is rexing v3 and my hardwire kit has also 3 wires yellow, red and black. it took me 2 days straight to be able to figured it out. try to do what i did maybe it will work. first, you need to have a multimeter or a tester to be able to check which is the hot fuse ang the on & off fuse. my car is a 2016 toyota tacoma. my fuse box under the dash board has 1 empty slot or spot for fuse and it is a hot one so i connected the yellow wire there. the red wire i connected it to the cigarette's lighter fuse slot and thats the on & off. and of course the black is going to the bolt or any metal for ground. and thats it. the parking mode will work. just ignore the message saying you need a hardwire kit because its just like a reminder but you are already connected. select the gravity sensing option under parking monitor then while your car is in off mode or the engine is off, try to slightly slam your car door the camera will start recording. and the recorded video will go to the lock file not on the unlock file. if you select the time lapse option the camera will turn on permanently. one more thing, the moment you connected the yellow wire on the hot fuse the camera automatically will start even you have not yet start your car. just ignore it because it will happen one time and go start your car and turn it off right away and the camera will go back to normal. make sure you select the gravity option so that the camera will only start recording when there's an impact. i hope this will help you. goodluck

Thanks Jayson. I had my test light out and found a switched and hot fuse. The issue is when i enter the Menu and pick Parking Mode i get the initial message about needing the Smart Hard wire kit and i hit OK. This gets me to a screen that shows OFF, G Sensor and Time Lapse. No matter what option i choose i always get the message I need the Smart Hard Wire Kit. I can't even turn parking mode on.

If that’s the case maybe you need to contact rexing. Because mine when after I hit ok like for example g sensor or time lapse it will go to a screen that shows parking mode. Meaning it’s already connected or working. So the best thing for you is to contact the company. Good luck

I have the smart hardwire kit and attached the cables to my fuse box, however the parking mode is not working correctly. The camera will continuously record, even after I select G sensor or time lapse. Please help

Was there ever a resolution to this issue? I just installed mine today and am having the exact same issue. I emailed care@rexingusa.com but it's the weekend so I have heard back yet.

Brian Hoblin, i wish i could say i got an answer but i have not. Rexing unfortunately is not timely in answering and no one in the forum has an answer.

I did hear back from Rexing and have been able to confirm that Parking Monitor is working. The message popups as a warning that you need to have the hardwire kit installed. Reading between the lines, my understanding is that you can always turn Parking Monitor on but you run the risk of draining your battery without the hardware kit. The message will popup with and without the hardware kit installed. I was able to verify it was working by leaving my window open after turning off the car and shaking the camera. The camera popped on and recorded as it should. There isn't anything noticeable to indicate that Parking Monitor is active until something triggers it to turn on. Hope that helps.
