What is the difference between the Rexing Mini-USB Hardwire Kit for Rexing V1P 3rd Generation, V1P Pro, V2 Dash Cams, and REXING Smart Hardwire Kit Mini-USB Port V1 V1P WiFi Version and V3 Dash Cams, besides the cameras. What makes one smart and the other not?

  Thank you for contacting Rexing.

  The hardwire kit comes with red and black wire (Red wire goes to fuse that is on/off with the ignition and black is the ground) while the smart hardwire kit comes with a red, black and yellow wire (Red wire goes to fuse that is on/off with the ignition, black is the ground and the yellow goes to the always hot fuse). This allows the smart hardwire kit to power the camera even when your car is turned off. There's a feature on our cameras called gravity sensing. This feature can be used under the parking monitor feature which allows the camera to turn on automatically to record when there is an impact. In this case, the camera turns on with the help of the yellow wire. So if you use the hardwire kit with a camera that has the parking monitor feature, it will not turn on to record under gravity sensing because there isn't a yellow wire.
