V1 MAX solid red indicator help?

Hi I've just gotten my first dashcam open box from ebay. I've had it plugged into my computer and a sold red indicator came on and nothing else. holding the power button down for a bit will turn the indicator off. ive gotten it to boot for a second before it shuts down again. is this unit broken?
