VP1 max firmware update

  • Amit Vohra

    Dear Customer,

    Thank you for contacting Rexing.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. First, we want to be sure that you are using this in your vehicle with a Rexing charger or hardwire kit. We cannot guarantee other products will work to the same degree as ours. Please also be sure that the sd card you are using is at least class 10 and high endurance.

If you are using both of these, please follow the steps below for troubleshooting your unit.

Format the memory card and restore default setting. (This erases all your saved videos so be sure to back it up first if there’s information you want to save)
    1. Be sure your unit is not recording. (Press record to stop the recording)
    2. Hit the menu button twice. It will say “Set Up” in the upper right corner.
    3. Scroll down to “format” and select “OK”
    4. It will say: “All Data will be deleted”. Select “OK”
    5. Scroll down to the “Default Setting” and select “OK”.
    6. Once restored, it will automatically close the menu.

    Update firmware.

    1. Go to the Firmware Tool to find the firmware for your camera model
    2. Download the correct firmware zip file for your camera
    3. Unzip the file
    4. Format your SD card using your dash cam’s Format function
    5. Copy any firmware files to the root (not inside any folders) of your SD card
    6. Insert your SD card into your camera
    a. Power the camera on by connecting it to power
    b. The camera will update automatically. The screen will stay off, but the status light will be active. Updating will take up to a minute to complete
    c. (IMPORTANT) After updating, format the SD card or it will flash every time, and all your settings will be lost
    d. Do not disconnect power cord, hold the POWER button to reboot your unit
    e. After the unit successfully reboots, you may disconnect the power cord

If you have tried all of these steps and are still experiencing this same issue, please let us know right away.

    Warm regards
    Team Rexing

be careful about updating your software.

I have a V1P-MAX and followed the instructions to update the software.

The Dashcam now has the updated software but since the update, my front camera does not work!!

There have been others that reported this same issue,  no fix given, just canned response of use our cables, use class 10 U3 fast SD card, etc...

    Not looking good.

Rexing, you really need to stop telling people to update firmware if you don't know which firmware is on their cam in the first place.

Fix your firmware page for the V1P series to reflect the unreleased firmware.

Put the 20211013 firmware on the site for people to download.

If this version is only compatible with the V1P Max with 2k rear camera then make a separate page for this scenario. Have a picture of the 2 different style rear cameras (1080p / 1440p) if that makes a difference.
