V5 Parking Mode issue

Hi Paul, I just want to make sure you are using the smart hardwire kit and not the regular hardwire kit. Also I'd double check the connections. The G-Sensor in the camera monitors for hard vibrations, perhaps the tests aren't hard enough but may I recommend the new Intelligent hardwire kit which uses motion sensing which might work for your vehicle better.

I am using the smart hardwiring kit. I'm literally jump on my car and the car is bouncing up and down. However a light simple tap of the camera though starts the recording.
Why would I purchase a new cable that is made to make non parking mode dash Cams into parking mode dash Cams. I bought the V5 with Parking mode integrated. if the sensor is not good enough...isn't it Rexing job to make it right?

will you send that cable free of charge? what will rexing do to fix this?

Hi Paul, The G-sensor is looking out for hard vibrations. If the car is bouncing up and down, it may not activate the sensor as imagine you are driving and every bump were to activate it and lock footages, you'd be locking footage all day while driving. I would perhaps simulate a crash by running into the car, big knocks, or even a big scratch. (When you tap the window and it records, that's a very good sign everything is working as should) The new intelligent hardwire kit does utilize the parking mode and if you want we can accept a return on the smart hardwire kit you have so you can get the new kit.

I tucked the wires in the pillars and do not want to undo everything and would have to buy new fuse taps. The intelligent kit looks like the same wiring as the smart hardwire kit but with the motion box. Can I order the intelligent kit and use the already installed current smart hardwire with the motion box? and then return the new wire instead? I just dont want to undo everything...it took me a few hours.

I suppose that works. However I'd like to recommend again that the parking monitor is working as is. A slam of the door doesn't generate enough force to wake up the camera because we close and open our driving doors everyday along with the shaking up and down of the vehicle. We really have not seen any complaints about the camera not picking up an accident due to the sensitivity of the G-sensor and we've sold the smart hardwire kit for years and years.

Got it. I understand the gsensor for when the car is on and being driven, to be less sensitive as normal to High speed accidents are high impact...but for parking mode...I guess I would hope/wish...it would be more sensitive and be able to adjust it to detect light impact and movement...when parked almost all situations are going to be light impact from someone backing into your car or shopping cart hitting your car etc. the chances of a 30mph and up impact is unlikely. maybe a firmware update to be able to make parking mode sensor more sensitive would be nice...the way it is now...I doubt it will turn on making it useless.
