V5 won't connect to Rexing Connect app
I received my V5 directly from Rexing on April 5, 2022. It came with outdated firmware from August 18, 2021. I would have expected Rexing to at least ship their products with the latest firmware. After 4 hours my V5 locked up on the boot up screen (white screen with Rexing V5). It would not boot up. I tried resetting it but nothing worked. I was able to get the latest firmware which my V5 was able to install. Once I installed the latest firmware, the Rexing Connect app stopped communicating with my V5. My Samsung S21+ will connect to the app through wifi, however when I hit the "Connect" button on the app it starts by showing the screen with the Video, Pictures and Settings buttons on the bottom except it then pops up a window with the message "Unable to play video". I'm not trying to play a video, in fact I can't even select any options on the app that would have let me play a video. The app will still connect to my V1GW-4K and behaves as expected. It just won't connect to my V5 properly. Yes, my mobil data is turned off (even though it didn't make any difference). My phone finds my V5's wifi signal and does connect. The option to stay connected without internet is also selected. I went into the apps settings and deleted the data and cleared the cache but it also didn't help.

The app caused my phone and camera to misbehave as well. Your gonna have to reformat your SD and ensure not to do a "quick" format. And repeat the zip file process. Reset Dash Cam. The solution for the app is simple. Uninstall. The rexing connect app is troubled and they are wrong for continuing to promote it.

I bought a Rexing v3, very happy with it. I then bought a Rexing V5c, I had to return the first one since it locked up and would not turn on. The second camera worked for a bout a week and stoped recorong on start up. I only get the Rexing logo screen.
