V33 Rear camera FM radio interference!
I never would have purchased this product and installed it as designed if I knew I would no longer be able to listen to my favorite FM radio stations. My Lexus GS350 has High-Definition FM radio, using the shark fin antenna on the roof for signal. As SOON as I installed this camera system, my FM stations started to bug out, hissing and going off as I drove. It took me several days to figure this out. When I unplug the rear camera, the station interference immediately disappears. Somehow, either the wire I buried along the side sill wire harness, or in the rear D pillar, or along the rear window/ceiling edge, or the camera itself on the glass is causing signal interference. This really pisses me off that a modern product would be made specifically for this application yet fail so miserably because it was not made shielded for RF interference. I call BS Rexing!

Hi,
We are sorry to hear that your camera is causing some radio interruption. You can rear-wire the rear camera on the other side of the vehicle. This step is known to fix these types of issues but we would like you to reach out to support so we have a dedicated technician work with you to see to it that all your questions and concerns are answered.

By the way, I know I can rewire it but that's not the point here. The point is that a video camera intentionally designed for rear window mounting (meaning on the glass) should be shielded to not interfere with FM antennae, which are quite often roof or glass mounted. On my GS350, diversity antenna grids are bonded to the glass in several segments, geometrically designed to look like they're part of the rear defroster grid. The power operated rear window shade on the GS prevents mounting the camera mid-window (because it would hit it) and mounting it low near the parcel shelf would drastically limit the captured image.
